Attributes of fairness include equity, civility, decency and veracity. Furthermore, fairness is defined as just and reasonable treatment in accordance with accepted rules or principles. This holds true and yet we need to apply such principles sensibly and with humanity to enable more empowerment of individuals across the world. There should be fewer restrictions and regulations to allow citizens to trade more freely. In terms of culture and the arts, often the value placed on these elements, and their contribution to society is limited – yet both are as essential to a fair society, with a coherent sense of itself, as those subjects that can be measured such as literacy, maths and science.
